Trash Collection

Beginning January 1, 2022, the regular contracted service for residents of the Borough will include:

Once weekly pick-up of regular trash on the Tuesday of each week from October 1st of each year until April 30th of each year, inclusive.  During this time, heavy trash  pick-up will be on the same day, with each residence limited to one (1) item per trash day.  Residents are to call the Borough Office to indicate the nature and size of the heavy trash item to be picked up.  Failure to inform the office of the heavy trash item will result in the items being left by the disposal service and a warning will be issued by the Borough.

Twice weekly pick-up of regular trash on the Monday and Thursday of each week from May 1st of each year until September 30th of each year, inclusive.  During this time, heavy trash  pick-up will be on Thursday of each week, with each residence limited to one (1) item per trash day.  Residents are to call the Borough Office to indicate the nature and size of the heavy trash item to be picked up.  Failure to inform the office of the heavy trash item will result in the items being left by the disposal service and a warning will be issued by the Borough.

The Borough will schedule two (2) electronic waste disposal days (click link for dates) per year so that residents may dispose of electronic trash, which includes all appliances with plugs.  Residents must contact the Borough Office to indicate the number of items being disposed of and to pay a $25 fee per item which contains freon. The Borough recommends that residents who are replacing appliances make plans for disposal and/or removal of the old appliances with the delivery service which is delivering the new appliance.

The Borough will schedule two (2) shredding days (click link for dates) per year, so that residents may dispose of sensitive paper trash safely.

The regular contracted services will NOT include any waste from a clean-out and residents must make alternative arrangements with a private licensed collector for the waste associated with a clean-  A list of available contractors will be maintained on the Borough website (click link for list), but residents are free to contract with any private license collector they wish.
